David Whitwell - Director of DWBC
David has been a Building Surveyor in NSW for over 25 years with extensive experience in the city, regional and rural developments and all Class 1-10 buildings. This extensive experience has placed DWBC with clear and professional understanding of what is required and how to move forward in construction.
DWBC is not just certification but a holistic approach to building and construction within the DWBC team. This provides for a professional and timely service for a range of matters and a streamline approach to Certification related fields. From providing a design review for CC and CDC developments, issuing of Approvals, undertaking the inspections and to the conclusion of an Occupation Certificate. As part of an expanding and dynamic office DWBC seeks to assist in limiting turn around times and providing a specialised skillset.
DWBC has a strong presence in State Significant Developments throughout NSW.
With more than Certification on offer, the office of DWBC provides for Accessible Access, BCA Advices and Alternate Solution Reports along with Expert Witness in the NSW Land and Environment Court.
Susan Whitwell - the other Director
Susan has a strong understanding of Town Planning with 15 years of experience within Council and Private Consultancy. Susan also has extensive knowledge of the Planning, Building and Construction legislation and approximately 10 years working in the legal field. With this background, it provides for a greater breadth of knowledge, understanding and competence to provide a balanced approach to all of our work.
With a strong background in law Susan provides advocacy for those challenges in relation to dealing with issues with Council either before or during Construction. As part of DWBC we also provide advice, Reports and assistance for Solicitors who are managing issues, queries or Supreme Court matters in regard to various aspects of Building and Construction, Planning or Home Owners Warranty. DWBC provides assistance and advice to Builders or other Certifiers with a way forward or problems that arise from the Construction process.
The combination of construction and building practicalities combined with a legal background and understanding the various pieces of legislation, DWBC is able to provide a competent and comprehensive approach to these issues. From written advice to working with Solicitors DWBC can assist in this complex field.
